WVONE Fall Conference

Our Fall Conference will be on November 7th and 8th in Charleston, WV at the Marriott Hotel. We have three national speakers on the Agenda. They are Jan McGinnis, Melissa Fitzpatrick, and Debra Gerardi; all recognized in their areas of expertise.

If  you have not registered for the conference please contact Laura Haney, Mary Ann Viski, or myself. We will send you a copy of the brochure so that you can complete registration.

The Conference Planning Committee, Chaired by Peggy Coster, President-Elect, has done a great job putting our conference together. We will have 25 Poster Presentations. The Poster Presentations were organized by Dr. Roger Carpenter: rcarpenter@hsc.wvu.edu. You won’t be disappointed in this session.

We will continue to have our Vendor Sponsors and Representatives present so that you can visit during the conference.  Don’t forget to bring some extra cash for our basket drawings and our 50/50 event. We will also continue to have breakout sessions during the conference. See you in November in Charleston!

Future of Nursing WV: WVONE Tri-Sponsorship

WVONE Officers and Board Members have found themselves in a very exciting and unique opportunity to move nursing forward in the state. We are part of a Tri-Sponsorship for the Future of Nursing WV that is supported by AARP to advance the IOM Nursing Recommendations. We have WVONE Officers, Board Members, and Members serving on the coalition for the Future of Nursing WV.  The Future of Nursing WV Coalition met in Charleston on September 20th for a retreat to reorganize and rejuvenate our plans moving forward. Dr. Alexia Green served as the facilitator and did an excellent job of helping us to complete our Vision and Mission Statements and make recommendations for the organizational structure. We will have an update about the Coalition at our luncheon on Thursday. See you there!
